Staphylococcal aureus (short, staph) is a bacteria that lives on and inside us. Around 25 % of people still have Staph on their skin or in their nose, but most of us don't have any ill effects from it. But it's a sly virus, Staph. It can exist on food or be spread to food by people under certain circumstances, where it can secrete toxins which cause painful food poisoning when ingested.
