While the COVID-19 pandemic has left the world's largest tech companies relatively unscathed, they too are not entirely immune to the crisis 's impact, which is currently wreaking havoc on the world economy. While Apple faces demand and supply problems and Amazon is forced to spend billions on keeping its massive distribution network secure in the midst of the outbreak of coronavirus, Facebook and Google are witnessing a decline in ad spending that threatens their revenue base.
According to eMarketer forecasts cited by the Wall Street Journal, Google could also experience its first record-breaking drop in advertising revenue this year, owing largely to a dramatic decline in travel advertiser spending, which is a major part of Google's search advertisement revenue.
