Facebook is coming up with a new way to bring more users online #Article

Recently , Facebook has launched a new update to its Free Basics Internet access program to connect more users to the Internet.Named 'Discover,' the new project allows users to access more Internet services via Facebook, which in the first iteration of Free Basics had previously offered only a limited subset of tools and sites.

Facebook launched the Free Basics project in 2015, with the goal of encouraging people to access the internet in emerging or underdeveloped areas with a lack of internet connectivity. For the limited data deal Facebook had collaborated with different websites.

Facebook's goal remained to 'connect the planet' and this project lives up to that while at the same time adding more Facebook users over time.Facebook does, however, have complete control over the portal, and this signals a issue because only Facebook chooses which website users can connect via it.

This means that people who don't have access will have to rely on Facebook to allow them to access what the platform considers acceptable, which might lead to more reliance on Facebook's own goods. Free Basics has been banned in many regions and now the new 'Discover' option is here to address it.

Although Discover is Free Basics, it's based on allowing wider usage, so Facebook will no longer be in a position to determine the people would connect to the app. This will help Facebook address regulatory issues as well as expand into more regions, which would help the platform grow.
