New Link and Ganon incarnations are making Nintendo's Legend of Zelda games seem unrelated to each other, but the show has a complicated timeline.Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda is one of the longest running series in gaming, and over the years it has accumulated quite the complicated past of the in-universe.
Despite the endless retelling of similar events by each game (Link beats Ganon with the aid of or to save Zelda), all Zelda Legend games take place in a timeline linked to it. Even, when the timeline breaks into different directions, it's not quite as easy as adding one after another.
