Smartphones are becoming more flexible and also take on many of the characteristics and features provided by our computers. Not to mention the developments that we're seeing year on year. As such, they are increasingly becoming more incorporated into our professional lives – surpassing the exclusive use of a communication system. Despite this convergence and creativity, however, we're seeing an rise in the value of smartphones in our working lives. So we have to ask the question: how do we separate the two and how much do smartphones affect our work-life balance.

Our survey found that 80 per cent of people use their phone in relation to work – often or irregularly – demonstrating very clearly how important smartphones have become our working lives. But, of course, there are many clear advantages of using our smartphones in this capacity; ever-evolving apps allow us to view and edit work documents from a remote location, interact with our professional contacts without limitations, and even provide us with a modifiable digital calendar. But what exactly is it that keeps working people glued to their smartphones?

For more than 80 percent of respondents pointing to the value of connectivity apps, this has undeniably become a popular advantage in professional smartphone use. Our apps allow us to communicate with others regardless of the situation – so if you are in bed, on the train, or maybe even at the gym, you can use your time effectively to make progress in your professional communications.
