Giving Schools an Honest Grade #infographic

As teenagers we will also treat our public education as a question of course. And this is certainly extremely important for our culture, as infographic shows today. The map of today exposes public schooling in the United States. Clearly, public education has been very beneficial to the general public, with the number of US adults graduating from high school rising at an unprecedented rate over the past 60 years or so. In addition to this, student achievement is higher in every major racial and ethnic group than it was in the 1970s.

While all of that knowledge is great to hear, there is still work to be done for each group of people to equalize the outcome. There are still substantial differences between different demographics in the graduation rates. A middle-class white student, for example, is still far more capable of graduating at a standard pace than, say, a Native American student or an economically disadvantaged student graduating at the standard pace is.
